Preparation

  1. Mix yeast and sugar with 4 tbsp water and let it bloom for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Mix together flour, butter, salt, water, and the yeast mixture into a dough. Knead well.
  3. Rest the dough for 1 hour in a slightly warm, dry place. Cover with a wet towel.
  4. Once the dough has doubled in size, knead again. Then, separate the dough into 200g balls and let them rest for 15 minutes in a flat oven pan.
  5. Knead the 200g balls into squares with a slight dome on the top. Now, apply the ‘oil trick mixture’ on the top of the dough balls.
  6. Place all the shaped dough balls in a 7” baking tray.
  7. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Once preheated, bake bread for 20-25 minutes.
  8. After 25 minutes, take the bread tray out of the oven and separate the bread pieces while hot. Lay them on a flat oven tray.
  9. Place the tray back in the oven until the tops turn golden brown, roughly 15 minutes.
  10. Serce with a curry or coconut sambal paste.
  11. Enjoy!
