Filipino Chicken Sisig Wraps

Ingredients

for 3 servings

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 lb ground chicken (455 g)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon light soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 medium size onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • romaine lettuce
  • green onion, chopped, for garnishing (optional)
  • lemon, sliced, optional

Preparation

  1. In a pan on high heat, cook ground chicken on high until lightly browned. Once cooked, add black pepper , soy sauce and salt.
  2. Continue to stir until the chicken has absorbed juice and become golden-brown. To this, add chopped onion and jalapeño.
  3. Let the onions cook slowly until about half done. At this point, add mayonnaise and lemon juice into the mixture and mix well.
  4. Garnish with chopped green onions, scoop into lettuce cups, garnish if desired, and serve.
