Baby Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

for 40 servings

  • 1 cup all purpose flour (125 g)
  • ¼ cup granulated white sugar (50 g)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (50 g)
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup oil (80 mL)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • milk, if needed
  • ¾ teaspoon matcha powder, optional
  • chocolate chip

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 320°F.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, oil, sugar, and vanilla extract. Then, sift in the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Add a few tablespoons of milk at a time to thin the batter if needed; the batter should be loose and smooth, similar to cake batter.
  4. If making matcha cookies too, divide the batter equally into 2 bowls and incorporate the matcha powder into one of the bowls.
  5. Using a spoon, drop the batter onto a greased tray to form individual cookies. Gently press 2-3 chocolate chips onto the top of each cookie.
  6. Bake for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges; let cool.
